Placing the handle in the bottom part of the sash, provides the possibility of correct installation of roof windows, according to DIN 5034-1 which indicates a minimum height of 220cm above the floor for the upper edge of the glass.

What is more, according to the instruction of Building Research Institute no. 343/96 „... air inlets should be installed 200cm above the floor level, from the lower edge of the air inlet. In FAKRO windows, the air inlet is positioned in the top part of the frame. In order to install the window in accordance with the requirements, the upper edge of the window should be situated 220 cm above the floor level. Recommended installation of FAKRO windows (lower edge of the window) around 110-140 cm above the floor level meets requirements of standards and provides ample natural daylight and contact with the environment.

Such installation ensures that the handle is always within reach. Higher installation of windows means that even a tall person can comfortably stand by the open window, including pivot structures.
