FAKRO with Grand Prix in “The Employer Friendly to the Gdańsk Vocational School 2023” competition
“The Employer Friendly to the Gdańsk Vocational School 2023” competition was summed up during the Gdańsk Fair of Secondary Schools. Awards were given to 15 entrepreneurs, with FAKRO receiving a special Grand Prix award.
FAKRO has been implementing projects aimed at developing and promoting vocational education for many years now. Last year, the company also organised the 1st Construction Education Congress, which provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between the industry and education sectors.
“The construction industry is constantly developing. Construction workers are professionals who are continuously improving themselves. Modern requirements set a high bar and vocational schools will face a major challenge. There is no future without building schools. The development of other sectors will slow down if we don’t focus on education in professions related to construction. After all, many technologies develop thanks to the growth of construction. This requires constant, conscious and effective cooperation between business and education,” commented by Paweł Kołbon, FAKRO Training Centre and Contractor Cooperation Manager, Vice-President of the Polish Chamber of Construction Industry.
FAKRO has been carrying out trainings, publishing teaching aids and organising visits for professionals at the company’s headquarters in Nowy Sącz since 1999. Implemented projects contribute to promoting vocational education and, above all, to increasing its effectiveness. The educational offer comprises training programs for both students and teachers.
One of the most important projects are classes supported by FAKRO, educating in the professions of roofers, installation technicians and fitters of windows and doors.
FAKRO also participates in the Building Academy, the Golden Trowel Building Competition, the Construction Knowledge and Skills Contest and the “Build with Passion” competition. The Company also supports such initiatives as the Polish Championship of Young Roofers and the World Championship of Young Roofers.

This institution always strives to meet new market trends and equip its graduates with modern tools to help them find a job. As a company associated with the construction industry, we know very well how important it is to professionally prepare young people who, thanks to thorough education, will become excellent professionals,” added by Paweł Kołbon who received the prize.
FAKRO in “The Employer Friendly to the Gdańsk Vocational School 2023” competition was nominated by Renata Wypasek, Principal of the State Construction Schools in Gdańsk. The event took place on April 1 at AmberExpo and concluded the Gdańsk Professional Week.
The gala was attended by representatives of the city authorities: Monika Chabior – Deputy Mayor of Gdańsk, Agnieszka Owczarczak – Chairwoman of the Gdańsk City Council, Andrzej Kowalczys – Chairman of the Education Committee as well as participants of the fair – representatives of 34 Gdańsk schools – vocational and general education.
