FAQ

Battery, PV panel

No. For structural reasons, each battery has a slightly different design for the connections to the controller.

The awning blind will last for about 250-300 cycles without recharging when the battery is fully charged.

About 3-5 years. It is impossible to determine a specific value, because a lot depends on how the awning blind or roller shutter is used, the amount of sunlight, harsh winters, etc.

If the battery is not recharged because the installation location has little sunlight, its capacity will probably decrease faster, but it still does not rule out proper operation.

You should wait until it is recharged, namely to sunny days.

Batteries can be purchased from the FAKRO Service. When ordering, please specify the product type.

We recommend that this be performed by the Service Department or Technical Advisor.

The awning's fabric is not resistant to hail loads.

Each awning blind and roller shutter has been tested for wind resistance in accordance with applicable standards.
All products have achieved the highest resistance classes:
  •  awning blinds (according to PN EN 13561:2004 + A1:2008) – technical class 3 (four classes possible: from 0 to 3)
  •  roller shutters (according to PN EN 13659:2004 + A1:2008) – technical class 6 (seven classes possible: from 0 to 6)
The highest class of awning blinds specifies a wind of 49 km/h. Internal tests have also shown that awning blinds can withstand loads up to wind speeds of 120 km/h.

UV colour resistance: according to ISO 105 B02, fabrics have a class of 7/8 (scale from 7 to 8), which is the highest. Fabrics will not fade.

The battery will work properly. In the absence of sun for a long time and possible snow cover of the panel, there may be power outages, so the battery may also discharge quickly.
You should then wait until it is recharged, namely until sunny days, and remove snow if there is any.

Awning fabrics

Notes on the maintenance of awning fabrics:
  • remove dust with a vacuum cleaner or compressed air
  • do not scrub with any brushes or use abrasive objects
  • do not use solvents
  • wash with soft sponges and soapy water, rinse with clean water
  • leave the awning blind unrolled until the fabric is dry

Efficiency decreases over the years. Manufacturers claim ~80% after 20-25 years of operation, but it all depends primarily on the operating conditions.

The temperature difference in the room with awning blinds featuring 1% and 10% fabric relative open area is not significant.
This is approximately 1-3ºC depending on the size of the glazing.
The colour of the fabric is also important as darker ones protect better than lighter fabrics.

Operation, control

Awning blinds can be used all year round. Even in winter, there are sunny days with very harsh sunlight that is very distracting while working, especially with a computer.

This defeats the purpose of introducing automatic control.
The roller shutter provides complete blackout and it is difficult to talk about improving work comfort, as is the case with the AMZ awning blind.
Similar functionality cannot be enabled because the hardware is not prepared for it.
At the moment it is possible to use another awning blind to close the roller shutter/s if someone wishes to do so.

(is this similar to the operation of our actuators connected to ZRD, which can control other devices automatically after performing the "Assign a  route" function?)

Yes, through the standard device pairing procedure.

The ZWP10 and ZWG remote controls have this feature.
In the ZWPSA4 and ZWPS8, this possibility was blocked due to the functionality of the battery status reports.
It is not possible to present responses from multiple devices at the same time.
The group control is available on channel no. 4, where reports are not sent.

There is no such direct possibility today.
However, the battery can be removed from, for example, a roller shutter and connected  to the actuator instead of the power supply unit. However, there is no connection to the products, so without removing the batteries there is no such possibility.
