A view without limits. A house in Szeroki Bór with panoramic glazing country: Poland

In the era of modern architecture, where space and light take on new meaning, bold and distinctive designs catch the eye. Among them are houses with monumental glazing that open living spaces to the outdoors. One example of the use of large-scale façade windows is a single-family house in Szeroki Bór, created with individuality and harmony with the surroundings in mind.

Modernity and harmony in material selection

The FAKRO INNOVIEW façade windows installed in the house were made in a wood–aluminium system, harmoniously combining the beauty of nature with modern technology. The oak joinery with a matte, clear finish offers natural warmth and interior elegance. On the outside, the anthracite aluminium cladding outlines a distinct, contemporary contour of the façade while protecting the wood from adverse weather conditions. This combination of materials not only complements the home’s modern aesthetic but also enhances its functionality.

Visual integration of the house and terrace

Visual integration of the house and terrace In this property, the vertical joinery was designed almost exclusively as floor-to-ceiling solutions. This resulted in large-format glazing that visually removes the boundary between the house and the terrace. The highlight is the nearly 12-meter-wide and 2.8-meter-high HST SKY lift-and-slide doors. Due to their size, they had to be delivered and assembled directly on-site.

The play of light all year round

The play of light all year roundExtensive glazing makes the interior come alive with the changing seasons. In summer, natural light flowing through the windows invigorates the space and enhances its colour palette. In winter, the large glass surfaces frame snowy landscapes, filling the interior with soothing tranquility and a touch of magic.

The house is also illuminated by FAKRO roof windows, which serve both practical and aesthetic purposes. They allow light to enter from above, creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout the day. Introducing light from different directions makes the space more dynamic and welcoming. Roof windows open the perspective towards the sky, allowing residents to enjoy views of clouds and starry nights, fostering relaxation and well-being.

The art of hidden details

The art of hidden details The quality of this home is also defined by its details. All vertical windows use concealed window fittings. When closed, the hinges are completely hidden, further enhancing the windows’ aesthetic value. The low threshold of the terrace doors helps maximise the glazing area. Embedding the glazing unit directly into the threshold and frame profiles of the HST SKY lift-and-slide doors further intensifies this effect. All these solutions broaden the visual perspective and create a seamless transition from the living room to the terrace.

A home in the rhythm of light and nature

A modern house with such carefully designed FAKRO glazing forms a harmonious connection between architecture and nature, creating a welcoming and comfortable living space. The achieved balance allows residents to enjoy natural light and the beauty of the surroundings all year round.
