FAKRO awarded as the best production facility in The Best of Industry 4.0 contest

FAKRO has been recognized as the best production facility in The Best of Industry 4.0 competition. The award was accepted on behalf of the company by Wojciech Klimek, Member of the Board for Production at FAKRO, during a ceremony that was part of the New Industry 4.0 Conference and TOOLEX trade fair.

The jury acknowledged FAKRO's advanced level and potential in the production context. They deemed FAKRO a factory of the future, implementing technologies, products, and services for the modern industry.

In the justification, it was written: "FAKRO's factory is an example of a strategic and unconventional approach to integrating the latest technologies in production. The facility has successfully automated many processes (wood processing and production of composite glass) without using robots in the traditional sense, meaning devices that perform manipulative functions along several axes."

For many, Industry 4.0 represents a factory without humans, where all processes are handled by industrial robots.

In our production facilities, we utilize robots for heavy and repetitive tasks. However, our comprehensive approach to automation is unconventional because we operate in a specific industry.

Roof windows along with complementary products like blinds, awnings, mosquito nets, and smartHome control systems require us to employ various technologies, from wood processing to glass production, plastic processing of aluminum and steel sheets, and even the production of electronic components.

The digital transformation of our company and FAKRO's journey towards Industry 4.0 involve much more than typical industrial robots – it's about automation and the integration of various technologies.

During the New Industry 4.0 Conference and TOOLEX trade fair, Wojciech Klimek represented the company and participated in two discussion panels: "Competencies for the Digital Economy" and "Leader of Digital Change."

FAKRO is continuously undergoing digital transformation. Process automation has contributed to improved work quality, increased efficiency, and better ergonomics. It's not just technological changes but also a mindset shift towards modern solutions. Receiving The Best of Industry 4.0 award is a recognition of the creativity and willingness to tackle challenges within the team, as summarized by Wojciech Klimek.

The event took place on October 3-4 in Katowice.
