FAKRO annually supports the International Festival of Children's Regional Groups - CHILDREN OF THE MOUNTAINS. It is the largest festival of children's regional groups in Poland, initiated in Nowy Sącz - the city where FAKRO's central headquarters is located.
The festival is a week-long celebration and serves as a meeting place for children from different cultural and religious backgrounds. During the shared activities, they become familiar with the richness and diversity of traditions, countries, and regions. They also learn about tolerance and respect towards the beliefs, cultures, customs, and behaviors of their peers.
The participants of the CHILDREN OF THE MOUNTAINS FESTIVAL include Polish and foreign folklore groups representing various ethnic groups from the Subcarpathian regions as well as mountainous regions from all continents.
In total, 11 groups and nearly 500 children participated in the event, representing countries such as Ecuador, Turkey, Indonesia, Kenya, and India.
Throughout the festival, various accompanying activities were organized for the audience, including exhibitions, competitions, and thematic art workshops.
FAKRO and the Festival of the Children of Mountains are almost peers with a Nowy Sącz heritage. Together, we promote the region of Sądecczyzna to the world. We are delighted to be partners in celebrating cultural and artistic diversity. It is not only an opportunity to showcase our heritage and traditions but also a chance for mutual understanding and appreciation among different communities. FAKRO embraces diversity - in cultures, regions, personalities, and products. commented Janusz Komurkiewicz, Member of the Management Board for Marketing at FAKRO.
The 30th edition of the event took place from July 23 to July 29 in Nowy Sącz and in affiliated venues in Krynica-Zdrój, Limanowa, and Szczawnica.
