The Birmingham NEC Building Trade Show is one of the greatest events of the construction industry in the UK associated with the construction, renovation and home conversion.
This year's trade show held between 27 and 30 March was visited by 32,000 people, 15% more than during the previous edition. Over 500 companies dealing with production, distribution, popularization of materials and equipment used in the construction presented their products.
Particular emphasis was focused on ecology, energy-efficiency of buildings and the associated acquisition of clean, renewable energy. There were plenty of examples of houses erected on the basis of skeleton structure with a straw roofing or entirely wooden structures proposed as adaptations of farm buildings into residential buildings.
During the trade show, the organizers put special emphasis on popularization of knowledge regarding construction of a house step by step: from permissions, looking for contractors, choice of appropriate construction materials. This knowledge was passed by professionals from the construction industry through interactive seminars and conferences. As part of the information session, Fakro GB representative Kevin Dixon came up with presentation on Fakro energy-efficient products.
FAKRO displayed its latest products over the total area of 90 square metres. The greatest interest and attention attracted balcony windows, the warmest in the market FTT U8 Thermo windows featuring heat transmittance coefficient Uw=0.58 m2/K and the DEF flat roof window. FAKRO is one of the leading suppliers of loft ladders in the UK market, therefore the stand also presented range of loft ladders, including highly insulated LWT loft ladder. FAKRO booth was visited by over 1500 people during three days of the trade show.
