EPD Declarations
Type III Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) are documents that define the degree of environmental impact of a product during its entire life cycle, specifically from the acquisition of raw materials, through production, transportation, installation, use to disposal and recycling. The basis for developing an EPD declaration is to conduct product life cycle assessment (LCA).
FAKRO product environmental declarations are prepared in accordance with the European and international standards EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025. These standards provide a framework for assessing and reporting the environmental impacts of products throughout their life cycle, including their carbon footprint. They are an important criterion for public tenders and sustainable building certification systems such as BREEAM, DGNB and LEED.
